Woooh. So finally, here’s an update. It’s 4 in the morning, and I’m really sleepy. Hope I don’t make any major mistakes. I’ve checked it a few times, it should be alright. (I guess). I just think I should put this up first.
So anyways, enjoy.

Chapter 2.
“When we were young we used to say that you only hear the music when you heart begins to break.” – The Kids from Yesterday
School bell rings.
Misha walked out of the classroom, murmuring to himself, “Another crappy school week over. Hello weekend.”
He walked into the crowded corridor. As usual, there are people putting books back into their lockers, girls chattering and making plans for the weekend etc. He quickly shoved his textbooks into his locker, took out his iPod and put it on shuffle, waiting for Anna to show up.
Slowly he drifted into his own world, a world full of wonderful music and wild fantasies. Music is his way of escaping the crappy high-school reality.
To most people, he was just an average teenage boy studying at a boring high school. He was neither a popular kid nor a poor victim of bullying. He was just like everybody else. To Misha, this was a good disguise, good enough for him to avoid going through an awful time in high school, good enough for him to avoid dealing with petty high school business.
But of course, his best friend Anna knew that it was all just an act, she knew Misha was so much more than just a common teenage boy.
They have been best friends ever since they were in elementary school. They have been so close for so many years that they knew each other like the back of their hands. They never kept secrets between each other and they talked about anything, and everything. They put up with each others’ bad habits and looked out for each other. They’ve been together through thick and thin.
They always liked to refer to themselves as Butch and Sundance. They even have their own tagline, “You and me against the mainstream over-rated world.”
Despite the fact that Anna was slightly older than him and she was a girl, they have no problem with being close to each other. They’ve never had that awkward best friends or something more issue, which was a very common phenomenon among best friends. They liked to think it’s because they knew each other too well, and that they knew they could never work out as a pair. They also liked to think it’s because they’re too awesome to be troubled with relationship issues. Moreover, they enjoyed their special and intimate friendship.
He was so deeply absorbed in his thoughts that he didn’t notice Anna has been creeping right behind him.
“Gotcha lover boy! I’ve got some good news!” Anna exclaimed and tackled Misha onto the floor.
“Woah easy. What is it?” Misha teased and got himself up.
“I just got a text from Michael, he said My Chem is playing a surprise show tonight at NYC! You have to come with me.” Anna squealed.
“Really? A surprise show. Where do we start looking then?” said Misha, his face lighten up.
“We should go to the Arlene’s first, see if we can find a clue or something.” Anna replied.
“Cool. We’ll meet up at 6 then, my place.” Misha said, and walked out of the school building.
———————————————-
A few hours later.
Misha opened his dresser and took out his favourite shirt. It was a MCR shirt, which was given to him by Anna on his 15th birthday. Speaking of MCR, Anna was the one who got him into My Chem. She gave him a copy of “Three Cheers” when they were in Junior High and he loved it instantly.
They loved sharing music together, making mix tapes and browsing through shelves of CDs at the record store. They would hang out at each others’ houses; spend the afternoon lying on the bedroom floor while listening to music or jamming along with the songs.
He put the shirt on and looked into the mirror. He fixed his messy hair and brushed the dust off his pants. “At least you don’t look like poop today,” he murmured to himself and smiled. Then he went downstairs to find Anna sitting on the couch, waiting for him.
“Aww you still have it with you,” Anna smiled, and pinched Misha’s arm. “You know what, tonight’s gonna be incredible. So let’s go, shall we?”
————————————————
Jensen put on a plain black tee shirt and looked into the mirror. He figured it would be better if he dressed up a little; after all, it’s their band’s first gig with a new name. He then put on his favourite black leather jacket and left the house.
7:20 pm. Arlene’s Grocery.95 Stanton Street. New York.
Jensen went to the back of the pub to set up the amplifiers and microphones. Jared and Adam were already there, tuning the guitars. They still have 10 minutes to go before they hit the stage.
“Hey man, I’m gonna do the introduction, you still remember which 3 songs are we playing, right?” Jared asked, looking at Jensen with a concerned face.
“Yeah, sure. No worries, bro.” Jensen reassured him.
“By the way, there’s this really hot guy out there, on the right side of the stage. Do I look alright?” Jared asked, looking at Jensen like a nervous teenage school girl going out on a first date.
“Yeah you look fine. Go get him, tiger.” Jensen chuckled and punched Jared’s arm.
————————————————-
Anna and Misha arrived at the Arlene’s. It was already kind of crowed, probably because most people think the Arlene’s is a good place to start looking. Anna went to the bar straight away and bought herself a drink.
A band just went on stage. There were 3 guys. The guy on the right side of the stage played bass. He was an extremely tall, muscular and fine-looking guy. The drummer was rather skinny in opposite; and he looked slightly younger than the muscular guy. And there was this other guy who played guitar; he was not as muscular as the bassist, but he was really good looking.
Misha found himself gawking at that guy the whole time. He didn’t really know why though. He just thought that there was something special about the guy, but he couldn’t name it.
He also had an odd feeling like he knew this guy from somewhere.
“Oh my god, you dirty little boy.” Anna teased.
“What? Why?” asked Misha.
“You’re practically blowing him with your eyes.” Anna joked.
Misha could see that Anna was getting a little tipsy.
“No I’m not. And you can’t do anyone with your eyes, Anna. Well, you can, but uh… anyways. You better stop drinking. We still have to go find MCR.” Misha chuckled.
“I’m not drunk, mom. Don’t worry about me, go find Mr. sexy guitarist.” Anna joked, and went to the bar to grab another drink.
Misha watched as Anna hit on some guys standing next to the bar table. He smiled and shook his head.
Suddenly, a familiar female voice yelled behind him. Misha turned around to see Jessica and a beefy guy. He didn’t like Jessica, not only because she has always been a bitch to him, but to everyone, especially her boyfriends. He knew that Jessica cheated on her boyfriends all the time, and he despised the way how she toyed with their feelings.
“Hey Misha, alone again?” Jessica teased.
“No. I came here with Anna.” Misha replied, coldly.
“But you see, she left you here, alone again. Anyways, this is Robbie, the guy that I was telling you about. You know, Robbie plays on the football team. You should definitely go try out for the team, girls like sporty guys. You won’t have to be alone then.” Jessica said, trying to sound like she’d care about him.
“Thank you, Jess. I think I’ll pass.”
“Oh Misha, you poor little thing. Robbie can introduce some girls to you too, right Robbie?”
The beefy guy was trying to hide a smile, but he nodded.
Misha was really annoyed and he couldn’t stand to be further humiliated. He thought to himself, “I’m not taking your shit anymore, you slutty piece of shit.” So he came up with an idea to piss Jessica off.
“Look, Jessica. To tell you the truth, I don’t need a girlfriend, because I already have one. And we came here together tonight,” Misha said, in a confident tone.
Jessica gasped and laughed.
“Really? So where is she?”
“He is just right there.” Misha said, with a smile on his face.
“Wait… is ‘she’ right? Who is she then?”
“No, I said ‘He’. And he’s right there.”
“Oh. Wow. Okay, so you should be getting back to HIM then.” Jessica said, trying to hide the shock in her voice.
Just then, Misha realized; shit, who the hell is going to be his girlfriend/boyfriend then. Where can I find a gay guy in this place right now? He looked around and saw the guy from the band earlier. He hesitated for a second and wondered if the guy would help him or not. He then gathered up his courage and walked towards that guy.
“Hi, I know this is gonna sound really weird and I’m a total stranger. But can you please pretend to be my girlfriend…emm boyfriend… whatever for five minutes?” Misha asked shyly.
“What?” the guy exclaimed and tried to lower his voice.
“I know, please just be cool and go with it,” said Misha.
Without waiting for a reply, Misha stepped in front of the guy and kissed him on his cheeks. He stood in front of the guy so it looked like they were kissing on the lips from Jessica’s direction.
“Him?” Jessica shouted. She couldn’t believe what just happened. She ran towards Misha and the guy.
“Misha. Hey Jensen. How do you guys, like, know each other?” Jessica asked, trying to sound normal.
The guy turned to Misha and gave him a What-the-hell-just-happened look.
“We uh… we went to the same dentist together.” Misha said, making it up as he went along. “Uh the dentist is called… uh… Dr. Cohen. Richard Cohen.”
“Oh. Dentist. I see. Come on, Robbie. We’ll see you guys later.” Jessica replied. Misha could see that she was too shocked to think about whether this was a lie or not. He let out a heavy sigh and turned around to face the guy.
The guy was now staring at him, waiting for an explanation for what just happened. He remembered that Jessica called him “Jensen”.
“Hey man, Jensen, right? Thank you for that. I was just…” said Misha. He was cut off by Jensen.
“Hold on, how do you know Jessica? Does she tell you anything about me? Does she get my mix CD?” Jensen asked eagerly.
“Wait… Mix CD? What are you..? Shit. You’re THE Jensen? Jessica’s ex?” yelled Misha. Oh god, what have I done.
I haven’t written a fic in years. But anyways, this is what I’ve written tonight. (spent 2 hours writing this, I know I’m slow.) A comment or 2 would be nice ;DDD pretty pleaseee??
*This is a COCKLES fic which is a remake of the romance-comedy: Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Just FYI.
It’s for a cockles / destiel rom-com fic competition.

Misha and Jensen’s Infinite Playlist
By Crystal L. [GoTeamFreeWill|Tumblr]
Disclaimer: I don’t own Jensen/Misha/Jared/Adam or anyone from the story. It’s completely fictional. And honestly, this is movie-remake-kind-of-fic, so I don’t own the plot too. (Lol, this sounds kind of ridiculous, but whatever.)
Enjoy.

“So it goes on and on, my love grows and yours is gone. A lonely existence, well it’s just a lie. If there is a reason, I’d like to know why.”
– Speed of Sound
It’s 3 in the afternoon. Jensen was pacing in his bedroom, hands fiddling with his cell phone, still wondering if he should call her or just wait till she calls back. He stopped in front of his bedroom wall, staring aimlessly at the pictures on the wall. There were pictures of his band’s first gig, posters of his favourite bands and pictures of her, the girl that broke his heart, Jennifer Nicholson.
Though he never admits it, everybody knows he was completely heartbroken when she broke up with him. He was so desperate.
He met Jennifer 2 years ago, around the time that he started his band with his two best friends, Jared and Adam. He would take Jennifer to their band practice, even though Jared never really liked her. Jennifer was his biggest inspiration, and he felt like he was the luckiest guy in the world.
On the other hand, Jennifer wasn’t exactly the best girlfriend in the world. There were a few times when Jared spotted her at the local pub, flirting with some guys, and of course Jared told Jensen about it. But Jensen never listened, saying that Jared was seeing things. Though Adam hasn’t seen any of these, he was also a little sceptical about Jennifer.
No matter what Jared or Adam says about Jennifer, he just won’t believe it. Not until last month, when he saw it with his own eyes. He went to the back of the pub after his band’s gig and there he found Jennifer snogging this tall, muscular guy. Then they had this big fight.
That was a month ago, but he still couldn’t get over it. He still couldn’t get over her.
He has been pacing in his room for about an hour now and he finally decided to call her. He called, and was redirected to her voicemail.
—————————————————————————————————
Jennifer took out her cell phone.
You’ve got one new voicemail.
“Hey Jennifer, this is Jensen. So… emm it’s been a while. I…. I just want to talk to you about some stuff. You know, the last time we spoke, we both…uhh kind of said some really nasty things that neither of us meant, just like when I… emm broke up with… uhh we broke up. Oh and I’ve left a mix CD on your front porch. Anyways, I just want you to know that I missed you and uhh… hope you have a nice weekend, you know, do something fun… get out there and yeah… call me though, when you get a chance.”
Jennifer rolled her eyes and murmured “Loser” , then she walked towards Anna and Misha.
“Hey guys, so he made another mix CD. Look at the ridiculous cover art. For God’s sake, can he just stop sending me these crap”, she grunted, and threw the CD into the bin and walked away.
Misha was staring at the CD; honestly, he didn’t think the cover art sucks at all.
“Don’t you even think about it”, Anna said, with a smirk on her face.
“No, I just want to put those songs on my iPod,” Misha replied and took the CD out from the bin.
“You know you are desperate, right?” Anna rolled her eyes.
“Look at this, Closer to Love Vol. 10. Poor bastard in love with a girl who’s so not worth it” Misha sighed.
“Oh my, you’re not… are you?” Anna gasped.
“What? I just… I just think…he makes the best mix CDs in the world.” Misha blushed.
“Aww someone is having a crush on the mysterious lover boy.” Anna teased.

Jensen was lying on his bed, thinking, like he always does, when he heard the familiar sound of the engine of Jared’s van.
“Oi Jensen, get your butt down here.” Jared yelled.
Jensen went downstairs and opened the door to see his two best friends. He was not in the mood for band practices or anything.
“Guys, I’ve told you I’m taking a mental-health day. No band practices. No video games. Alright?” Jensen sighed.
“No, it’s not band practices! Don’t you remember? We have a gig to play tonight, at the Arlene’s!” Adam yelled.
“Oh right, a gig. But guys, you see, I’m not feeling right today, let’s just call it off, okay?” Jensen grunted and was about to close the door.
Jared pushed open the door and said, “Hold on, man. It’s our first night, with our new name. Tonight is a big night for us. We can’t call it off and we can’t do it without you.”
“I’m sorry, guys.”
“No, Jensen. Listen to me. We love you, mate. But you’ve been depressed for a month now, it’s not cool anymore. You’ve got to get yourself back together. We’ll play this gig and help you find someone better.” Jared said, patting Jensen’s shoulder.
Phone rings.
Adam took his phone out, there’s a new message.
”Look alive, killjoys. For the first time since the last time, looks like MCR’s to be found, somewhere in the five boroughs tonight. The secret show tonight is rumored to go on after hours, so keep an eye out on those Ritalin rats and Draculoids. You never know where they might lead you!”
“Oh my god. You guys are not gonna believe this. MCR is playing a secret show tonight in NYC.” Adam yelled.
“MCR! YOU CAN’T SAY NO TO MCR!” Jared exclaimed.
“Alright, I’ll go. But I’m driving my own car. ” Jensen said, his face lighten up.
“Hell yeah! That’s mah boy. We’ll see ya’ at the Arlene’s tonight, at 10. Don’t be late.” Jared shouted as he got into his van and pulled out of the driveway.
